Over the last two days, my wireless router has just kinda stopped working. I've lived in a two story home since April and when I had my services moved over, the router was placed in an area where it would be about the same distance from devices on either side of the house. We've had absolutely no problems since the installation 5-6 months ago.

Why does my router stop transmitting internet signal after Untill now I had no problems with router, but as I connected new PC, with windows 8 installed on, to the router, I started to experience the following problem: as I turn the host computer (wired, PC with windows 8) off, after a minute or so the router (otherwise still turned on) stops transmitting internet signal to other devices (wired (TV) and other wireless). Last week, the internet suddenly stopped working. When I bypassed the router, and plugged the cable modem directly into one of my computers the internet worked fine (on that computer). When I tried to reconnect the router, the router setup said the router couldn't be connected. I know it is getting a signal b/c the internet light is on.
